A Foundation in Retail and Safety
Adam began his professional journey in the retail sector, where he spent an impressive 16 years cultivating a deep understanding of operational efficiency, team management, and customer engagement. During the latter eight years of his retail career, he specialised in Loss Prevention, People Safety, and Security Operations.
In these roles, Adam displayed a natural aptitude for safeguarding assets, ensuring workplace safety, and reducing operational risks. His hands-on approach and ability to assess threats while implementing practical, effective solutions earned him recognition as a trusted and reliable leader. His passion for security and the protection of people became clear, laying the groundwork for his eventual transition to the security industry.
Turning Challenges into Opportunities
In 2022, Adam faced an unexpected challenge when redundancy forced him to reconsider his career trajectory. Rather than viewing this as a setback, Adam saw it as an opportunity to pivot into a field he was passionate about. Joining CN Security, a subsidiary of CMG, as a Mobile Compliance Manager, Adam brought his wealth of experience and strategic thinking to a new industry.
In this role, Adam managed mobile support teams and implemented targeted operations to combat shoplifting and support local businesses. He excelled in:
- Building Intelligence: Adam led efforts to compile and share critical data on known offenders, ensuring timely and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Planned Operations: He meticulously planned and deployed mobile teams to conduct safe, strategic interventions to reduce theft and enhance security in high-risk areas.
- Community Impact: Adam’s initiatives reduced shoplifting and fostered a safer, more secure environment for businesses and their customers.
Adam’s ability to take on this challenging role and deliver measurable results demonstrated his resilience and capacity to thrive in high-pressure environments. His dedication and leadership did not go unnoticed, and he was soon promoted to Operations Manager. He oversees the daily activities of CN Security with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction.
A Well-Deserved Break and a Welcome Return
At the end of 2023, Adam decided to take a career break, allowing him to travel and reflect on his next professional steps. While this time away provided valuable personal growth, it also reaffirmed his passion for the security industry and his commitment to making a difference.
When the opportunity arose to rejoin CMG, Adam did not hesitate. In 2024, he returned as an Operations Co-Ordinator, bringing his renewed energy and wealth of experience back to the team.
Driving Innovation and Excellence
Adam has already made significant contributions in his current role, particularly in implementing a new scheduling system for the CN Events Team. This system has streamlined event coordination, improved resource allocation, and enhanced the overall efficiency of event operations. Adam’s attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects have been pivotal in ensuring a smooth transition to this new platform.
Beyond his technical expertise, Adam’s collaborative approach has been a key factor in his success. He works closely with team members across departments, fostering a culture of communication and innovation. His ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving has made him an invaluable asset to the team.
